Privacy Policy
Garage Hoppers ("we", "us", "our") operates a free online garage sale directory at garagehoppers.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a visitor or seller.
Information we collect
When you submit a listing: your name, email address, sale address, city, province or state, sale dates and hours, description, item categories, and any photos you upload.
When you sign in: your email address via sign-in link (Supabase Auth).
When you browse: your approximate location if you choose to share it (used only to filter nearby sales), and a saved-listings list stored in your browser's local storage.
Automatically: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) and, with your consent, analytics and advertising data through Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta Pixel.

How we use your information
We use the information you provide to publish and manage garage sale listings, authenticate seller accounts, display saved listings, and communicate with you about your listing status. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. Email addresses collected during listing submission are used for listing management only and are not displayed publicly on the site.
User-submitted content
By submitting a listing, you confirm that the information is accurate and that you have the right to publish the photos provided. You retain ownership of your content but grant Garage Hoppers a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on this site and in related promotional materials. We may remove or reject listings that violate our listing guidelines, are fraudulent, or are otherwise inappropriate.
Listing accuracy
Sellers are solely responsible for the accuracy of the information they submit, including sale dates, times, addresses, and items listed. Garage Hoppers does not independently verify listing details and is not responsible for changes to sales that are not updated on the site.
Data retention
Listings remain on the site until removed by the seller or by Garage Hoppers administration. Account data is retained until you request deletion by contacting us. Analytics data is retained per Google's and Meta's standard retention policies, subject to your consent settings.
Canadian users — PIPEDA
Garage Hoppers is operated in Canada and is committed to compliance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Canadian residents have the right to: request access to their personal information held by us; request correction of inaccurate information; and withdraw consent for non-essential data collection at any time. Third-party services
Garage Hoppers uses Supabase for database and authentication services, and Fontshare for web fonts. Map tiles are served by OpenStreetMap contributors. Address geocoding uses the Nominatim public API. These services may collect technical information in accordance with their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third-party services.
Children
Garage Hoppers is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
