About Garage Hoppers

Garage Hoppers is a free online directory that allows individuals to list and discover garage sales, estate sales, moving sales, swap meets, and community sales across Canada and the United States. The directory service is free for sellers and shoppers. We reserve the right to introduce optional paid features in the future with appropriate notice.

Seller listings

By submitting a listing you confirm that: (a) you are the organiser of or have authority to advertise the sale; (b) all information is accurate to the best of your knowledge; (c) the sale is a genuine second-hand goods sale (garage sale, estate sale, moving sale, swap meet, or community sale); and (d) you will promptly request removal of the listing if the sale is cancelled, postponed, or substantially changed.

Listings that are fraudulent, spam, duplicates, commercial retail operations, or otherwise in violation of these terms may be removed without notice. Repeated violations may result in your submissions being blocked.

Listing review and publication

All submitted listings are reviewed by Garage Hoppers before publication. We do not guarantee that any listing will be approved, published, or remain live for any particular period. Approved listings may be removed at our discretion. We do not guarantee response times for listing review.

Shopper responsibilities

Shoppers should verify sale details — including dates, hours, address, and item availability — directly with the seller or by checking the listing before travelling. Sale details are provided by sellers and may change without notice. Garage Hoppers does not guarantee the accuracy, currency, or completeness of any listing.

No liability for sales

Garage Hoppers is a directory service only. We are not a party to any transaction or agreement between buyers and sellers. We make no representation about the quality, safety, legality, or accuracy of items advertised. We are not responsible for any loss, injury, damage, or disappointment arising from attendance at a listed sale or from purchasing items advertised on this site. All transactions are conducted entirely at the buyer's and seller's own risk.

User-submitted content

You retain ownership of any content you submit (descriptions, photos). By submitting content, you grant Garage Hoppers a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute your content in connection with the operation of this site and related promotion. You warrant that you have the right to submit all content including photos, and that it does not infringe any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

Accounts and saved listings

Accounts are created via email sign-in link authentication. You are responsible for maintaining control of your registered email address. Saved listings are currently stored in your browser's local storage and may not persist across devices or sessions. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Intellectual property

All site design, code, text, and branding are owned by or licensed to Garage Hoppers. You may not reproduce, scrape, frame, or use our content for commercial purposes without prior written consent. Automated scraping of listing data is prohibited.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Garage Hoppers and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of this site, reliance on any listing, or attendance at any advertised sale. Our total aggregate liability to you in any circumstance shall not exceed CAD $100.

Governing law — Canadian users

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of Ontario. Canadian consumers also have rights under applicable provincial consumer protection legislation that cannot be waived by these terms.

Governing law — US users

Users accessing the site from the United States agree that disputes shall be resolved under Ontario law and in Ontario courts to the extent permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under applicable US federal or state consumer protection laws.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
