Write a specific title
Lead with the sale type and the detail most likely to interest a shopper. “Multi-family garage sale with tools and furniture” is more useful than “Huge sale.” Keep it honest and easy to scan.
Use clear, current photos
Photograph the actual items or setup in natural light. Choose one strong overview as the first image, then add closer photos of furniture, tools, collectibles or other standout items. Avoid screenshots, unrelated graphics and photos that reveal private information.
Name the items people search for
Mention the strongest categories and a few specific items in plain language. Include useful details such as sizes, brands or general condition when they matter. Do not list items that will not be available at the sale.
Double-check dates and hours
Confirm every sale day, the opening time and the closing time before submitting. If plans change, update or remove the listing so shoppers do not make an unnecessary trip.
Make the location useful and safe
Enter the correct sale address so the map can place the listing accurately. You do not need to add private contact details to the public description. If your building or neighbourhood has special access instructions, explain only what a shopper needs to arrive.
Help shoppers on sale day
Use readable signs where local rules allow, keep walkways clear, place prices where they are easy to see and group similar items together. Remove signs and request an update if the sale ends early.
